A charity trek in aid of tragic Aldridge teenager Rosie Ross takes place at Aldridge old Airfield on Sunday. Rosie was just 16 when she was fatally stabbed while out shopping with a friend in Birmingham in 2001. Since then, her devoted parents, Karen and Sean Ross, have channelled all their energies into raising funds in Rosie’s memory, to benefit youngsters locally. This weekend they’re hoping to top previous walks with an out-of-this-world experience. Karen Ross said: “This year we have a space theme that has really taken off with a Dr Who lookalike and Daleks making an appearance on the day and the chance to view real planets if the weather is clear. “The support we received last year was amazing with people raising a fantastic £15,000, which helped several youth projects in this area.” As well as the walk, visitors can enjoy making astronaut and alien masks, a small fun fair, and lots more.
