Plans to build almost 100 new homes on derelict land in Coalpool have been unveiled to local residents. Walsall Housing Group and its development partner Lovell propose to build 96 properties on empty land in Beddows Road and Rutland Street. The homes will be a mixture of two-bedroom bungalows and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses. Some will be available for rent and others will be for sale. The plans were revealed to the community at a public consultation event at Coalpool Methodist Church, Coalpool Lane, on Wednesday. A full planning application will be submitted to Walsall Council and work on the site could begin in early 2010, subject to planning approval and funding being secured. |
