Stab death suspect hands himself in

10:05, Mar 12 2013

A 19-year-old man wanted for questioning after a rapper was found stabbed to death has handed himself in to police.

Essex Police took the unusual step of releasing the names and photographs of two suspects after Thomas Brittain was fatally assaulted at a friend's home in Parkside Quarter, Colchester, at about 1.45am on Saturday.

One of the men, Andre Vella, from Frinton-on-Sea, has now been arrested and is being held in police custody.

Detectives are continuing to search for Jack Hummerstone, 18, from London, and have advised members of the public not to approach him but dial 999 if they see him.

Mr Brittain, 26, suffered multiple stab wounds and a post-mortem examination showed he died from a stab wound to the chest.

His family described him as a well-known songwriter and local music producer also known as Twister.
