Staff enjoying new role

Jun 5 2009

Two popular members of Walsall FC’s backroom staff have been promoted to more senior posts at the Banks’s Stadium, the club announced on Wednesday.

Daniel Mole has been appointed assistant secretary, with website and programme editor Andrew Poole moving up to replace his colleague as communications manager.

Mole, 29, joined the club in 2002, while Poole, aged 32, has been with the Saddlers for the past 11 years.

Chief executive Roy Whalley said: “We have some tremendous staff at the Banks’s Stadium, and I’m delighted for Andrew and Dan.

“In his role as communications manager Andrew will continue to edit the match day programme and website, while taking on the additional editing roles of our events website - m6j9.com, Saddlers World and Saddlers TV.

“He will also play a key role in promoting advertising campaigns for the club’s commercial, conference and entertainment programmes.

“Dan has been appointed to the post of assistant club secretary while continuing in one of his current roles as Press Officer.

“It is important we look to the future. We have young people in place who can take the club forward.

“Dan will work alongside me on club administration for the next 12 months and the intention is that, sometime during this period, he will take on the role of club secretary.

“This will enable me to spend more time on commercial activities, while at the same time ensuring that there is a smooth transition of the administrative role to Dan.

“Walsall FC is fortunate to have two employees like Dan and Andrew, fully committed and passionate about the club.”
